How it started
His answer was a new kind of power station – large-scale energy storage hubs with grid-forming power conversion systems that connect renewable generation and major electricity users behind a shared grid connection. These hubs provide critical grid-support functions traditionally delivered by conventional power plants, while reducing the need for additional grid connections and easing capacity constraints on the electricity network.
The ambition is not simply to build more storage, but to create a new layer of energy infrastructure that makes the power system more flexible, resilient and ready for a fully electrified future.
To make it real, he assembled an executive team with senior experience across power systems, project development, finance, law, EPC delivery and energy markets – some 180 years of collective leadership experience.
