Project SATURN consists of two Green Power Stations in Denmark, built on one reference design. Together they add 250 MW of grid capacity at 150 kV, 157 MW of grid-forming PCS and 637 MWh of energy storage in two regions where grid capacity is scarce.

SATURN Hirtshals will connect the Port of Hirtshals to the Bredkær station through a private 18 km, 150 kV underground cable, releasing 150 MW of import and export capacity. The station has 92 MW of grid-forming PCS and 375 MWh of energy storage. Construction is planned for 2027 and 2028, with operation targeted for 2029.

SATURN Vejle is planned in two steps. From 2027, the station can start operating through an existing 60 kV connection, with 40 MW export and 30 MW import. From 2029, a dedicated 150 kV cable to the new Bredal substation provides 100 MW. The station has 65 MW of grid-forming PCS and 262 MWh of energy storage.

The final investment decision for both stations is targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026. All dates are targets and subject to permits and financing.
